For Tomorrow; ELEPHANT GREY

On a more current note i picked up some Montana paint today for spraying a little machine I'm making. Process pictures coming tomorrow.
MPC Van.

Putting the final outline around one of the graphics Sam Brit and me ( WT&G) have been doing over the last couple of months in the stairwell of the Soho based production company The Moving Picture Company.

We have loads of footage and photos of this project, but its proving rally hard to find time in between Uni work during the week and weekends at MPC drawing to upload anything. I didn't even manage to blog the fact that the project graced the pages of Design Week a few weeks ago!
I'll dig out my copy of that and upload a little pic of that soon.
Backlog.
I have finally found the cable for my camera, so here is a few bits from ages ago.

Final year Context Report. My first go at perfect binding. Went Pretty well if i do say so myself...

Tattoo.

I went to see my tattooist today to get some more work done on my arm.
I haven't been for ages so it was good to get some bits finished off, and some new bits started.
here are some pictures of stuff as it happened - i'll probably post a better picture of the cyclist when his plus fours and argyle socks get done!
(his wheel isn't bent, i just don't have my arm straight in the picture)

GO SCAN YOURSELF at ELECTROWERKZ
On Friday night Brit Sam and me or Waggott,Tripp&Graham I should say, showed our GO SCAN YOURSELF  project at Electrowerkz near Angel Tube station. The space was amazing, and the people very welcoming and friendly. We would also like to give a big thanks to Tom Banks for inviting us to show at the first place!
Here are a few pics, more on our flickr here.

1st of December - Time to feel the Christmas spirit.

Today is the first of December and we have been trying to get into the spirit of things here in the studio by listening to Bob Dylan's new Christmas album. (go and watch the video on his website)
Sam expressed his feelings on the festive season with this little number.

New Poster.

Before moving my project forward I'm spending a little time going over what I have done so far, to hopefully give me a better understanding of where I'm going. Today I re-made the poster I posted a wile back (scroll down) to fit inside my briefing document that I should finish tomorrow.

A3+ newsprint.
Folds to around A6 and will slide into the other document - which I will put up tomorrow.

Drawing Booklet.

Today was cold and raining so I took the opportunity to hide in the warm and re-make a booklet about the week long drawing project we did a few weeks ago. Here is a few snaps - I'm still not totally happy with it, a few more tweaks and i'll take some proper photos of the finished article.

Really nice interview with Eike Koenig of studio Hort. I like what he says about designing by hand as apposed to using a mouse.

Today we showed our short films in the studio.
Mine explores the idea of the way we perceive objects in film.

As soon as i find a link to all the others i'll post it up - there was some really nice films shown today.

The Pound Shop Project.
crit.

Pound Shop Objects

All this week as i have mentioned before we have been on a project run my El Ultimo Grito where we had to use three or more pound shop items to create new fictional future object, and a short story to help give the object some context and background.
This morning was crit time, and there was some really exciting stuff about. (i should have taken some pictures really).
My pound shop object, turned into a personal pollen count device. you may be wondering what that is?

well my definition was...

"Personal pollen count device.
Intolerance to pollen has reached epidemic proportions.
The pollen count at the end of the weather forecast has become insufficient due to the inaccuracy
of having only a few places where the reading is taken.
Personal pollen count devices start to appear,
calibrated to the owner’s own allergies and needs. "
